Advertisement call of Leptodactylus viridis (Anura: Leptodactylidae) from Minas Gerais, Brazil. pp. 342-344.

Abstract. The most recent phylogeny dealing with the genus Leptodactylus confirmed its monophyly and that of the species groups L. fuscus, L. pentadactylus, L. melanonotus and L. latrans. L. viridis is a member of the L. latrans group whose natural history is poorly documented. During fieldwork near the city of Carlos Chagas, Minas Gerais State, Brazil, we were able to record the vocalization of L. viridis. Its call resembles a drop falling into water and can be heard from a long distance. It is a simple call composed of single type of note repeated at regular intervals. This is the first description of a call from L. viridis. It is also the southernmost record for this species.
