Extreme longevity in an individual of Neotropical frog, Ctenophryne aterrima (Anura: Microhylidae). pp. 354-356.
Abstract. A male Ctenophryne aterrima, collected in western Panama in 1987, died in captivity 36 years and 11 months later. Since it was adult when captured, it is estimated to have been at least 38 years old and is therefore among the oldest anurans known, and among tropical species, by far the most long-lived one.
